Bad Brains are legendary in the American punk rock scene. They pioneered a sound that was harder and faster than pretty much anything happening at the time. But they didn’t stop there. Later incorporating Reggae, Heavy Metal, Funk and Soul into their sound. Bands like The Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys, Anthrax, Deftones and Rage Against The Machine all claim Bad Brains as an influence. Join this show if you want to play fast. The British Invasion started in the mid-sixties beginning with The Beatles first appearance on Ed Sullivan in February of ’64. The Beatles were quickly followed by a slew of British pop groups who took American music and put a British spin on it. Americans couldn’t get enough of it. Bands like The Rolling Stones, The Hollies, the Dave Clark Five, The Zombies, The Searchers and The Who just to name a few. This show will be full of earworms. A great show for all skill levels and instruments.

Prog Rock started in the late 60’s when bands became more interested in the studio than the stage. Prog bands were a natural evolution from psychedelic bands. They were more interested in music to listen to as opposed to music to dance to. Spectacular musicianship combined with more poetic lyrics and bizarre sounds define the genre. Carole King is the most successful female songwriter of the 20th century with well over one hundred songs she wrote or co-wrote on the Billboard Hot 100. Songs like You’ve Got A Friend, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, One Fine Day, I Feel The Earth Move will all be represented as well as selections from Really Rosie.
